E-Recycling Days Next Week

As they’ve done twice in the past, the University of Memphis and Apple Inc. will co-host a community-wide e-recycling event May 18-19 on the U of M campus.

This year’s public event will be Saturday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Southern Avenue parking lot. Professional movers will be on hand to unload e-recyclable materials from vehicles. The process is as easy as driving up to a drive-through window. There is no limit to the number of items a person can drop off.

Earth Day in Memphis

Thanks to the Downtown Neighborhood Association for Tips for Earth Day!

Earth Day 2012

Sunday, Apr 22, 2012
There will be Earth Day fun and educational activities all over Memphis this weekend. Check out the happenings in your neighborhood or go visit friends in theirs!
This year's focus is on water conservation - while Memphis is blessed with our aquifers, nothing is forever and conservation is the best means we have to secure the supply for our future. Consider having swapping out your shower head and faucets for those that use less water per minute. Better yet, swap out your old toilet for a modern one with less than a 1.6 gpf usage rating. Have any drips or leaks repaired. If a population of a million people each saved one gallon of water per day, that is ...well, that is a great start.
